On numbering prints honestly
What ‘edition of 25’ really means at Dunavi, and why we will never reprint a sold-out edition.

Editions & archive

An edition is a promise
When we say an edition is limited to 25, we mean that 25 prints exist, plus two artist’s proofs, and that the screens, plates or files are retired once the last one is signed. Nothing more, ever.
Each print is checked under daylight, signed in pencil, numbered and blind-stamped with the studio mark. The archive keeps a record of every collector who owns a numbered print, so provenance can always be traced.
Scarcity should be a fact you can check, not a marketing word.
Paper and pigment
We print on 310 gsm cotton rag with archival pigment inks rated for more than a hundred years under glass. Screenprints and etchings are pulled by hand with a partner workshop in Porto.
